A clinical study is a research project that helps doctors evaluate a potential new medication. |

Sometimes, we're looking for people who have a specific disease or health condition to see whether the test medication works for them. At other times, we need people who are generally healthy so that we can see what happens when they take a medication, often for just a short time; sometimes, just one dose.
Everyone who takes part in one of our studies is given a full health check first. This typically involves a physical examination and some questions about your health. If you decide to participate in the study, you will be carefully monitored by a team of specialist medical experts while you are taking the medication and often for a little while afterward as well.
